THE STORY: Nathan
wrote this poem after hearing in the span of a week multiple stories from
girls he knew who were going through tough times. The beat is courtesy
of Petter Smart from Norway. TK e-mailed Petter to ask if he could use
one of the beats on his MP3.com page for the album and this was one of
the ones Petter agreed we could choose from. Belo put it on his "Instrumentality"
mix-CD he gave to Nathan and Nate worked on several scratch concepts with
Invert. It was recorded in the 2-day River Rock marathon session thanks
to Greg Nordin.
LYRICS:
NDIT: I will push you to prevail over your downward future, false
words have somehow convinced you of your worthlessness. I know it's hard,
I've been there. But please believe me when I tell you- a heart like yours
is rare. It has survived the nights of unheard cries, kept it's head high
when no one cared. Years of abuse have made you hard, but I can still see
the warmth in your eyes. Now's the time, daughter of God arise! Take hold
of the promise given to you on the day your birth. Your Creator madeyou
with pride. The inheritance of a queen was given on the day you arrived,
so today a decision must be made to regain your destiny. The opportunity
