BELO
Who is Belo? He's just a guy who doesn't call people back when they need some callin' ya know? He does a lot of things, all of which are pretty dope considering he's so multi-talented. He caucasian, not Arabian. He's loud when he wants to be and can tune the personality down in an instant. He's a wrestler, not WWF, but spiritually. He digs all types of music...but onto the fundamentals: Belo rocks graffiti, microphones, six-steps and stalls and people's eardrums on the irregular. During the beginning of his hip hop career he was known as Lil' Dlux. This name was dubbed him after joinin' the 12 deep crew, Ill Foundation, airing from Spruce Grove and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Back then (1996) all he did was write rhymes, freeestyle, cuss, and get into the business of any spare-time holdin', ganja smokin', womanizing type ish...ya dig? Well, he only dug that till about the age of 19. It
was in the latter part of his 18th year that Belo began noticing the works
of Dabs and Plas, two of Canada's dopest graff artists. Belo began rockin'
graff some time after meeting these boys and during the celebration of
his brother Matt's 21st birthday (April 1998) he dropped his first piece
under the name "Ask4". This was short lasting and he grabbed the name "Nego"
a few weeks later. He met Qwit from the MIS Crew stationed out of Vancouver
(now known as ETC Crew). Qwit was his influence as well, ans' if y'all
know Qwit, you know a dope cat! Anyway, graff began and rhymin'
slowed down a lot.
Belo still paints...still rhymes...still dabbles a bit with the bboyin' (if you can force him to) and sure enough, above all else, he stills reps overweight (that's heavy y'all) when talkin'...so for sure, Belo is still kickin' up dust in southern Alberta. He desires to do some advancing on the Complex Souls tip and work eventually with DJ Nato, DJ Invert, DJ Disoriental and the COT Crew once again. Truthfully though, lately he's been thinking about snowboarding and the future. Whatever you do, pray for this cat who once thought he'd go by the name Impulse, and you can guess why...yup, he's still learning grace and much patience. It ain't sowezee some times...much love from him to you... -David Andrew Brunning |
